Rose Hill clubs, community groups and school – Can anyone help?
Donations or voluntary work
Many people in Iffley are already involved in different ways in doing things to bring people together across our Ward of Rose Hill and Iffley – the Church, support for the Advice Centre, Rose Hill and Iffley Low Carbon and so on.
Rose Hill Junior Youth Club is often on the lookout for volunteers, as is the Primary School (where many residents have helped for a long time). There’s a particular dearth of football coaches at Rose Hill Youth FC, and that is a major barrier to expanding sporting participation.
In addition, donations are required at the many excellent charities involved in this area, such as Shelter, Homeless Oxfordshire and Crisis.
As we know, these organisations and the communities they serve have all been hit hard by the pandemic, so any support will be very timely.

Art Award

Many congratulations to pupils and staff at Iffley Academy, Oxford who are celebrating after receiving a prestigious Artsmark Platinum Award in recognition of the school’s outstanding provision and contribution to arts education. This is the highest arts award afforded to schools by the Arts Council and Iffley Academy is only one of six schools in the country in 2021 to receive a Platinum Award. Iffley Academy is a community special academy for children and young people up to the age of 18 with complex special educational needs and disabilities. Judged to be Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2019, the Academy was designated as a teaching school in 2018 and is part of an aspirational Multi Academy Trust – The Gallery Trust, a community of special schools dedicated to providing outstanding education and support for young people with special needs and disabilities. The Academy is Oxfordshire’s largest special school with over 175 pupils attending from across the county.
