What the shop offers
The Community Shop is managed and staffed entirely by volunteers as a local service.
It sells a range of locally grown and manufactured products as well as general supplies, including bread, milk and other fresh foods, and the weekly Oxford Times, but not alcohol or tobacco. New lines include fresh bread delivered daily, apple juice made from local apples and fresh, home-made sandwiches and cakes. Locally written books and pamphlets, many about aspects of Iffley’s history and culture and a range of postcards and greeting cards made by local artists, are also on sale.
The postal facilities enable letters and parcels to be sent worldwide (but not registered or recorded delivery).
Undelivered parcels can also be directed to the shop and collected later by the recipient.
The shop also sells tickets for local events and society meetings including those organised by FOIV.
